Product Description

The Stiletto first came into popularity during the Renaissance as a defense against heavily armored knights. The thinness and three sided design of the blade allowed it to easily slip through chain mail and the gaps in plate armor. In the latter Renaissance period the Stiletto was adopted by assassins. Due its size, the Stiletto could easily be concealed under a cloak or in a sleeve. The Assassin could walk up to his victim in broad daylight, in a crowd, and assassinate the target before anyone knew that had happened. This tactic was widely used by the powerful houses of Italy during the Renaissance. You can own History. This is a beautiful replica of a Renaissance Stiletto. The Dagger is perfect for Display, Reenactment and Costume.

Blade: The blade of the dagger is constructed in the traditional three sided design. Each side of the blade has been deeply fullered and comes together in a thin point. The base of the blade is a rounded cylinder reminiscent of the Renaissance era. Scabbard: The scabbard of the dagger is wooden with a black leather cover. The drag is steel with a ball point tip. The scabbard throat is also steel and fits seamlessly on the guard. Guard: The guard is twisted steel in an ornate Italian design. Handle: The grip of the handle is twisted to conform to the hand. The pommel is solid steel perfectly balancing the dagger at the guard.

Overall Length: 16 " Blade Length: 10.5 " Handle Length: 4.75 " Condition: Brand New
