Product Description

This is the Skyjiro Taka Chigai 1070 Differentially Hardened Forge Folded Wakizashi. The blade is made of 1070 high carbon steel that has been forge folded for a total layer count of over 3,600 layers. The blade has an authentic suguha-midare hamon and the boshi is a jizo style turn back in the kissaki. The kissaki itself is a geometric shaped chu-kissaki with sharp yokote line. The blade is finely polished to where the hamon activity and folded steel masame or linear pattern is brought out naturally using Japanese water stones. The habaki is solid yellow bronze as are the seppa, tsuba, menuki, and fuchi/kashira. The tsuba is a two-toned crossed feathers cutout design. The handle is wrapped with brown silk in hineri-maki style tied over white samegawa ray skin with gyakute or reverse mounted bronze feather menuki. The saya features genuine buffalo horn koiguchi with premium black lacquer finish. This wakizashi has a great feel when swung with enough weight and forward point of balance to cut through medium to hard targets with ease, yet has good handling for fast direction change.

Blade: The blade of this sword has been constructed with 1070 high carbon folded steel with a hand polished blade and is differentially hardened with suguha-midare hamon.

Guard: The two-toned tsuba is solid yellow bronze with a crossed feathers design.

Handle: Traditional Japanese style hineri-maki brown silk wrapped handle with real white samegawa and single mekugi pin with feather menuki.

Scabbard: Made of wood with premium black lacquer finish and buffalo horn koiguchi and thick brown silk sageo.

Returns Policy

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
